I love gearfagging because my pictures suck ass
i love gearfagging because i can take more pictures without having to end the roll.
I force myself to be interested in the art of photography to justify my gearfaggotry
My pictures suck ass so I don't gearfag because I feel like I can't yet use a nice piece of gear properly.
Gearfagging showed me an immense world of interesting cameras and optics, all with very diverse applications, on an artistic and also a technical level. Thank god for gearfagging.
I gearfag because I'm a fucking loser with more dollars than sense and attempt to justify buying brand new things over other offerings based on arbitrary criteria that don't even impact image quality. I then proceed to shill and put down other people that take nice pictures with gear that I don't like for some reason. I don't even take pictures.

I love gearfagging because I enjoy using my tools as much as I enjoy what they produce.
"Never trust a carpenter that hasn't named his hammer"
I don't gearfag because I don't have money
Id love to gearfag, but i have low self-esteem, so i dont think i deserve to have nice things in my life.
I'm on pretty shitty gear, just a camera with a shit kit lens, and sometimes I get kind of frustrated when I see a beautiful shot that would require a high zoom, high ISO tolerance (full moon rising above the mountain at night for example) or something else.
But eh, can't help it. And the shit equipment is helping me improve by making me put more effort in to achieve the 'same quality' shot.

Conrgrats, you relate with 98% of sonyggers!
I'm a monogamous gearfag in that I only really gearfag over the camera I already have. Occasionally fantasizing about cameras too expensive for me to ever wanna settle down with. Until she dies or gets too old or I make bank, at least.
I dont gearfag because i dont care too much for gear.

>Implying you couldn't take the photo in the first scene with a kit lens
>>3072731
Youre not alone. I have somehow managed to take blurry photos at 1/500, and have never touched an off camera flash, so blowing money on a nice rig is pointless
This site has taught me to hold a higher standard for the concept behind the photo, as well as light
The same shot taken with better gear will objectively be better. Only the poor cry about "gearfags"
>>3075893
You can, but by the time you can you'll have moved on from the kit lens
>>3076507
This is true. You want the best photos? Buy the best gear. There's no way around that. This isn't the only field where this is true.

>>3076918
