Does portraiture ever have any merit?
This was my first roll of film, Tmax400 in some shitty point and shoot, and my favourite shot is actually some portrait of my grandpa

I think I'm always too far because I'm shy of getting too close or bothering people or getting cussed out

This is from my last roll, some Superia 400
No idea if it counts as street
Probably just a boring cliche but I did like the colors

Same thing again, probably too far?
And this was with a 50mm. I have no idea how some people get at arms length with a 28mm

This shot is legit.
>>3071547
Thanks mate
I love it too but I can never tell if it's a good shot or I just like it because I like my grandpa
>>3071608
Is shitposting a sport here?
Resize your shit
>>3071609
Just because you're shit at photography and get offended when someone points that out to you, that doesn't mean it's shitposting.
>>3071498
Read the sticky before posting, you retard.
>>3071609
Fuck yes it is.
>>3071615
Nah wasn't me
>>3071615
Unaccountable anons calling photos shit with no supporting argument or constructive criticism definitely constitutes shitposting.
You can act like you know what's good, but that doesn't mean you do.
>>3071623
SIt the fuck down and have some humility that anyone would entertain your shitty snaps, you dullard.
>>3071608
>>3071615
>>3071627
Holy shit, are you the same faggot that complained about the photos in Catsbys thread? If not than there's too many of you autists bringing the quality of this board down by simply posting un-constructive remarks on half decent content.
Seriously if you're not going to help others improve than this board is not for you.

yeah you really need to leave
>>3071675
>defends isi
You should just admit you're trash and put on a trip
>>3071608
daily reminder to never take anyone's opinion seriously if they only shit on things without any real criticism

Love the moral high ground, m8
What's your focal length? You've got some great compositions
>>3071873
28mm on all of them except the last two which were 50mm
I prefer the 28mm so I'm thinking about getting a Ricoh gr or a Fuji x70
>>3071502
I like this one a lot. Well done.
>>3071498
this one is kinda funny
• Please post images that are JPG format, smaller than 1 MB, and/or about 1000 pixels on the longest side.
• Expect to be judged harshly. Learn to deal with it.

>Joe, don't look behind you, but there's a creepy fat kid taking our photo. I'm scared, Joe
Love your shots man

GR is a good camera but the lack of manual focus makes it not ideal for street. Just get a Leica M something.
Nice pics btw, you have a good eye. Keep shooting.
>>3072243
>Just get a Leica M something
Lol I'm poor mate
>>3072243
Except the GR does have manual focus? You can scale-focus it while looking at the live view, or you can use the snap mode for hyperfocal or zone focusing. It's great, and it's absolutely designed for street.
>>3071498
>>3072266
Whoops. Took this on my phone. How shit am I. Plz bully
>>3072251
I mean, snap focusing is okay until you realize how terrible it is having to go into the menu every time you want to change the distance. Doing anything on liveview is even worse, and the whole holding the macro button and sliding the wheel thing is also awful. It might seem okay if you've never shot street with a camera with an actual focus ring on the lens I suppose.
>>3072248
Save up. The film stuff doesn't depreciate, so you'll be putting the money up up front but you'll get it back whenever you sell it. You don't buy film Leicas, you rent them for however long you want for free. As long as you don't destroy or lose them, of course.
>>3072288
If you can't handle holding the up arrow and turning the front dial, then I don't know what to tell you. It's easy. I shot street with a Leica and a few different 35mms before using the GR series. The only thing I miss is an OVF.
Here we go lads

>If you can't handle holding the up arrow and turning the front dial, then I don't know what to tell you.
Honestly you don't have to tell me anything. I've been shooting for over a decade with all manner of cameras. Nothing comes close to having a ring on the lens. Engraved and painted distance and hyperfocal markings, hard stops at min and max, it's no contest and anything less is a compromise.

I never had the autofocus fail on me

nice anon

>menu every time you want to change the distance
snap distance can be boung to the effect button on the side of the camera.
It's a little clunky to switch distances, though, so people just leave it at a certain distance and give in.

interesting shots, most modern street photography is garbage, but there are few photographers like andre wagner who keep it alive and also make it interesting.
My only advice is to keep shooting as much as possible and it probably helps living in a large city
