If you like trains, and take pictures of them, you are a foamer. Deal with it nerd
>>3067797
I thought all railfans were foamers by default, though.

>foamers
what's a foamer
>>3067936
Somewhat derogatory term for people who do "railfanning" or "trainspotting". The idea being that they foam at the mouth when they see a train. Personally I see no difference between most train guys and guys who are terribly into cars, trucks, planes, or boats, but for some reason only trains get singled out as "odd", even though they are just big hunks of rolling metal like any other vehicle that people obsess over.

Why are trainfags so autistic?
>>3067345
Everyone here is already aware of moopcos autism, we don't need a thread dedicated to the retard

Because a large portion of car people can realistically drive, own, mod, etc cars. Maybe not Ferraris but it doesn't take a rich guy to own some horsepower. Almost nobody can own a locomotive, tracks, or drive one outside of people who do it for a living.
It's even more realistic that you can join a flight club and fly your own plane.
>>3068136
You can work for the railroad or do model railroading. What you're saying doesn't own any relevance however. Nobody owns the roads they drive on. Many people never own the cars they really like. Nobody owns military aircraft or huge aircraft carriers but they still devote hobbies and time to enjoying them. So I have to ask, why do you have to own something or mod it in order to enjoy it?
>>3068168
fucking tool
>>3068168
You don't need to own the roads with a car, you would for rails, and yeah not everyone will own their dream car but people who are into cars generally will still try for horsepower, etc
Military stuff is different, those people are step above train foamers for sure, but people who get overly autistic about it without being in the military are looked at as weird for sure.
Anyway, chin up chap at least you're not an elevator or escalators fan.
>>3068208
You still didn't answer my question. And no most people don't care what your hobbies are either way and they certainly don't impose arbitrary criteria like "you must work in the field of x to enjoy it" because that makes sense only to people who think their life has to revolve around their occupation.
Trains are neat, especially steam commuters from the early to mid 20th century, but I never got standing out in the rain to catch a glimpse of a freight train that's hauling scrap to Jersey.
>>3067797
But you're being a foamer by standing there to take photos of trains.
