I want to start charging people for photography work but I'm worried my photos would leave people disappointing and then I'd have to deal with them giving me shit. Advice?

They'll always give you shit for it; rule of the universe.

It might be the best portrait ever with full production crew and 100 hours in Photoshop and they'll still try to price you down by pretending not to care. It's just business, deal with it.
>>
Just do it man. Your work ain't the best (obviously), but it isn't too bad either. I think these images are worth paying for. Not too much though. I mean if these people want the best photo's they can possibly get they should hire someone who is more experienced. Good luck.

I mean some of your photos aren't even in focus to begin with, particularly the first one.

Work on your work first until you're at a level you can comfortably shooting a subject in a range of scenarios, e.g. night time, in sun, with varying light rigs.

Then focus on the subject themselves, how are they best lit, how to they want the photos stylized, how will you achieve that?

You need to understand what the client wants from the photo shoot.

I think once you've done all the above you can justify charging for photos

Your work is fine m8, solid overall, definitely good enough to satisfy most people's expectations.

It's your English the one that leaves me disappointing.
>>
>>3064818
If you show your work to a prospective client beforehand and they decide to pay you for work, then there is no reason for them to give you shit unless your quality is not consistent with what you showed them prior to the assignment. If someone likes your work, don't get self conscious, just accept the pay if you want to. I personally don't do it because I don't want to deal with the stress, and I don't want to work for friends, especially not good friends. It's just weird.

Your images aren't sharp senpai. How are you focusing?
