Hi /p/ i have a film slr with 400 black and white film and 1.2 f lens. What settings can i put my camera (aperture/shutter speeds/focus) so that i can use it as a point and shoot camera? I want to just snap as I go

dial it to about F/5.6, and make sure you can focus as fast as you point, unless it's an AF enabled SLR.

Just put it in aperture priority or program mode. Any decent slr has this.
Manual focus is piss easy with the right focusing screen too.
Buy an autofocus point and shoot for $5 if you want to point and shoot.

Shutter priority Canons are mostly memes, K1000's are definitely memes, late Leica R's, OM1's, Nikon F's and FM's are really the only desirable non-aperture priority SLRs.
Konicas are nice but not desirable.
Meneltas and their early Leica equivalents belong in the garbage.
