Can anyone tell me what type of lens was used in this photo? I need this kind of detail
Probably a short macro such as 40mm 2.8
iphone 4 senpai
A contact lens

id argue that the iris or whatever was taken as a separate shot and edited into the eye in post

You would be wrong.

Any half decent macro and a bright light
Scientists say eyeball is 12 megapixels. 2 eyeball 24 mp
I guess it's more about the angle of directed spot light. Iris shots tend to be very flat. I'd also suggest it to be cropped.
Notice there is hardly any field curvature, which is indicative of native macro-lenses. If you did not find an answer yet, google "macro bellows" or "Canon MP-E 65mm"

Op, ignore this faggot.

I didn't knew that I've recommended the MP-E. It's more of an addition as I don't know what's the exact intend. Normally people do this kind of stuff
