1. It was mildly interesting first time but, like drone photgraphy, it became tedious very fast
2. It relies less on creative merit and more on the "Wow, look at that crazy bastard standing on a narrow ledge 40 floors up" factor.

There is nothing inherently interesting about it as photography. No different than taking a photo from any other tall place. As documentation, it is only as interesting as the phenomenon, which is not that interesting. We have been climbing mountains for ages. Now, people with the desire to climb find themselves in cities, with nothing but buildings. Bring something more to the table.
i like the perspective it gives, and i like getting up on top of things. it often shows a side of a city you normally can't experience. i'm not a real rooftopper though, and i don't get myself in gnarly positions for kicks
