Hey /p/,
I've no idea what to call this so I'm having a hard time troubleshooting. Many of the photos I import from my EOS M to LR4 look like shitty 256 color bitmaps (pic related). It looks fine if I zoom in/export the photos. Anyone else had this problem? I suspect it's the Retina display, my 6 year old macbook didn't do this.
My friend's sweater. It seems to struggle with gradients in dark areas.
Top part of image/nose. These are all screenshots of what I see in Lightroom.
Photos look fine on my end so It's most likely your hardware. Screen or GPU.
No, i'm seeing it too - and im on a graphics LED screen. Theres something wrong with the gradients. Theyre stepped, not smooth.

In Lightroom, preferences/performance/develop, you you have Smart Previews on? It says something about decreased quality while editing.

I can see this issue too, looks posterized.
1: are you shooting raw or jpeg?
2: what compression settings are you using for exporting these images? Try exporting them tiff and see if the issue persists to atleast rule out if its a compression issue or a editing side issue
