Why is the video on entry-to-prosumer DSLRs still god awful?
Honestly even smartphone sensors are capable of delivering higher quality videos at a quarter of the price, all the while fitting it into something that you can slip into your pocket. What's holding back DSLRs?

Because video was never something they were meant for. More like a added feature. Get a mirrorless if you want video, but until battery life gets better a DSLR is still the tank for stills
