oh good, a moon thread. maybe one of you anon's can help me. i'm using a nikon D3300 with a T-adapter to shoot through a Celestron Evolution 9.25 inch telescope, and i have it set up similar to this: https://escdn.nl/images/resized/314414:698:705:contain.jpg
I'm having trouble getting tack-sharp focus through the camera. using the eye pieces the scope is very sharp, even with high magnification eye pieces. I live in a rural area with very little light pollution and very good viewing conditions.
I've tried to hold the shutter release down whilst turning the focus knob on the telescope very slowly, but this pic is about as sharp as I can get.

Temperature differential is bad... the air from your room mixing with the outside air is going to affect the image.
Let it sit outside for an hour, then try again. If you have good conditions, it will be sharper. But don't expect anything too drastic from what you posted.

Also this muchly and make sure there are no heat sources near your target. For focusing buy (or make) a Bahtinov mask. Pic related is one of the only times I've had anything near good seeing from the city.

I usually don't do astrophotography when there are flat stratus clouds on the low horizon. The picture only had two colors, a very faint orange and disgusting blown out puke yellow.
