You have a Leica. It's immaculate. It has the original box, maybe two dings total and it has only been serviced by official Leica technicians in cleanrooms with a completely documented service history. You bought a Noctilux for it. One of your favorite things is to take pictures of it.
Here's a picture you took with it.
I have an AE-1. It was my uncle's or something. I usually just keep it in my car under the passenger seat where it rolls around a lot. The meter is off by a few stops but I just adjust for it and it works well enough. I bought a 50mm 1.4 for it that I found at a fleamarket for $10. It rattles a little and when focusing it, it feels rough like there's sand in the grooves. One of my favorite things is to shoot cheap expired film in it.

But I have a Leica. It's immaculate. Though it doesn't have the origional box, it has two dings total and has only been serviced by Leica official technicians in cleanrooms with a completely documented service history. I don't have a Noctulux but I have a Summacron for it. And one of your favorite things is to take pictures of it.

Who the fuck writes lame and gay fan fiction about their own fucking life?
I have a Nikon EL. I bought it out of an antique shop for $10. It has no dings but 6 scratches total. It came with a leather "case"? that I promptly removed because it felt too large in the hand with it. I usually keep it in my glove box where it slides left to right with every turn and bangs around a lot. I bought a metal nikon 50mm f1.8 for it and its a tank focuses smooth and glass is immaculate, shutter is still perfectly timed after 41yrs of use. One of my favorite things to do is shoot ektar 100 in it of floridian decayed mansions.

People who want to share. Apparently cucks can't share, only watch.

Why would I write some fey paean to my fucking camera? You know your camera isn't your photography, right?
You only care about gear because your own actual work lacks heft and meaning and is thus literally (as in, the definition of) not noteworthy.
First time I agree with this >>3035169 faggot, this thread is fucking cancer
You have a Zenit 12XP. It's black frame is so heavy, you need to fix the gravitational lensing distortions in post every time you take a photo of it. You slap a Domiplan prime on it, the abysmal triplet a fitting companion to the unwieldy outdated abomination. You put it on the floor only to see the varnish strip off the wooden tiling around it. Sigh. Second time this week. You take a poorly composed tablet photo of it and upload it unresized to /p/. You briefly wonder what led to this, why the fuck are there autistic threads about camera backstories now, narrated like you're checking out /r9k/ back when moot first implemented it. You don't really put much thought or effort into the post, because it's not worth any. You check the captcha verification box and hit Post.

But will you kill yourself as so many wish and so few abhor?
>>3035126
Cameras are works of art unto themselves. Not unlike owning beautiful mechanical sculpture.
Love my camera, but this is cringeworthy. Also not surprised in the slightest that leica users are fetishizing thier expensive jewelry pieces.

You'd have to be blind to make this mistake. You're missing both your i's
>>3035379
yeah summacron is a better lens for one fifth of the cost
>>3035385
H-he he he, I-I w-was only p-pretending...
Fuck off cunt.
I prefer to have my Leicas serviced in filthy highway service center toilets by local trinket peddlers.
Sorry, "Leicas"
>>3035726
as the skilled Leica doctors die off this will be the case for all of us soon enough.
I have a IIc in need of a shutter and don't want to take it to the go to leica guy because I'm scared he'll snuff it before getting to putting the camera back together. So my choice is attempting it myself after watching the youtube shit or trusting it to a kid who has done one before after watching some youtube shit.
I payed the Leica tax for my M3 and am fine with it but don't really care about a shooter screwmount
>>3035202
I notice you didn't make a follow-up post with a photo you have taken with it.
I think we all know why.
Can someone tell me the point of getting a camera set up so expensive that you're too afraid of taking it outside to shoot with it ??
You have autism.
>>3035962
Yeah it's called common sense or "why the fuck would you put a roll of film in a Zenit when you have a Praktica MTL5, also why would you ruin film on a Domiplan when you have better primes?"
When you stop it down to at least f8 it gets tolerable, but I wont't run another roll through it having satisfied my curiosity.
I have a Canon 7d mark II. I have the original box. Never even used the neck strap. I bought it because I reasoned that if I sold it for half it's worth in a couple of years I'll have been losing a net of $30 each month, which is reasonable. Its body is soft and rounded, representing the greco-roman standard of beauty. I keep it in an old, dusty case and never use it because there's no wildlife where I live and I want to keep it pristine so I can sell it in a couple years.

Collectors value is void now.
I have a Nikon D700. I have bought it second hand, actually, I trade one of my lens for it as I had disliked the D600 as a full frame camera. I don't have the box, the strap is old and look vintage. It's a pretty solid and professional camera even 10 years old, the sensor is comfy, the colors were nice and it's a tank.

Can these stories be the new /p/ meme?
I have an Asahi Pentax S3, I bought it from an old women who's husband died. It came with the original 50mm, a sigma 28mm and the original leather neck strap. I use it for b/w street, portrait and landscape photos, it still works well despite the upper shutter ribbon being broken and that it's around 60 years old.
I take pictures of it and post the film snapshits it makes to show my instagram followers how hipster I am. Here's a picture of it.
