I know there's a bit of Sony hate here but I've been using a RX100 iii for two years now and it's been amazing. I've wanted to upgrade to a DSLR for a long time but I mostly take it hiking or traveling and I'd prefer to keep it compact as possible.
The a6300 has a bigger sensor, weather sealing, and almost everything that the rx100iii has too. The 6500 is more than I should spend on a camera for an enthusiast, but it has in body stabilization, is that a big deal ?
Should I stick with the kit lens for a while before upgrading ? If I was to choose an all-in-one lens for travel and landscape, what should I look at ?

Avoid the kit lens like the plague. I shoot Sigma primes on my a6000 and they are way better.

This guy knows. I got the lens kit cos I didn't know shit at the time. Used it once in 2 years.
30mm Sigma is cheap and sharp. I've heard they don't last forever but the 19mm is 40% the price of Sony's own 20mm and sharper so who cares?
