A piece I entered into the congressional art competition. It's one of my favorite photos I've taken. Critique it as you will.

you're about 20 years too late for selective colour to be an interesting effect
Even with you heavily leaning on selective color in an attempt to make the photo more interesting the photo still sucks. Selective color doesn't make a bad picture good.

Good luck, I hope you win.

Selective color is a meme. Please don't ever do it again. Only your mom likes it
Selective colour is trash

Maybe so. I know it's frowned upon often, but I gave it a shot. It was my first attempt at selective coloring as I explore all forms of photography. If executed correctly, it can provide interesting results. It's no big deal though. I can deal with some bashing. I can only improve from here, you know?

I don't mind selective color but this photo is complete garbage. awful messy background, uncontrolled shit-tier bokeh, and blown highlights. It actually makes me angry when beginning photographers pass this kind of ill-conceived, technically pathetic trash off as "artistic" and soccer moms encourage it

what makes bokeh "controlled"?
