I finished editing this picture in Lightroom, and all is well except for a small problem at the bottom of the photo. You should notice it almost immediately. The bottom seems a bit distracting to me, but I'd like to know what other people think. Is it a real issue, and what are some ways that I could fix it? I'm very critical of my work, and I feel I may be overthinking it -

I think you aren't being critical ENOUGH if you're devoting this much thought and energy into a snapshot like this.

There's a bit of room for improvement, I take it?

yes

Desaturating the floor and cloning out the weed may help to keep the eye on the dragons though. Shitty attempt on my part but hey.
>>
>>3027692

Yeah, quite a bit. Your composition is too cramped for this to be a photo of the entire scene, but too busy to be a study of the dragons.
>>
>>3027696
I'll do what I can with it. Thank you, Anon -
>>
>>3027699
I appreciate the input. It's definitely not one of my best photos, but it's one of those from a shoot I did last October that was just kind of an extra but I thought I could do something with it. I appreciate the input -
>>
>>3027696
Also my eye is drawn to the windows. If you had waited half an hour the dragons may have been in sunlight and the building not. Who knows?
>>
>>3027705
If I waited that long, more of the photo would be in shadows. The time I took the photo was around 17:00 I'm pretty certain, so the sun was only going down from there. If I had used a lower aperture, the windows might not have taken away so much from the subject in the foreground.

My advice is learn when to give up on a photo. Many beginners fall into the trap of trying to aggressively polish a turd and obsessing over every little detail when, no matter how much effort you pour into it, you still end up with a turd at the end of the day. You can always reshoot, even if it takes you a few years. Better to take what you've learned from a photo and apply it to the next one, ya know?
>>
>>3027711
Yes definitely. You live and you learn, for sure. I'm definitely not a professional (yet). I've only been at it for three years now, but I've learned a lot and am pretty confident in the direction I'm headed. Much of my newest work is well produced, and I'm proud of it. Any advice I can get I'll take right now. I just want to be the best I can be.

I think it's a bit more than what I was looking for, but interesting nonetheless. Now that you bring it up, a painting heavily inspired by the photo might not be a bad idea. However, painting isn't my specialty. I do appreciate all the feedback, though -
