I had a photography dream last night.
I dreamt of a lens with a built-in leaf shutter and several shutter settings such as "4(00)". In my own dream I was trying to figure out what this meant and what it did, then I finally realized that it meant that at 1/4 shutter speed on the camera, the built-in leaf shutter creates a 1/400 exposure. I imagined the purpose of this lens was for greater flash sync speeds.
In retrospect, the "4(00)" notation is not very clever since 1/400 is not even a full stop of light like 1/4 is. Adding two 0s at the end of slower shutter speeds doesn't create any meaningful stops of light in terms of shutter speeds. But I think the underlying idea was pretty neat.
Have you guys ever had a photography dream?
