What type of light meters are generally found on older SLRs? Are we talking matrix, point, center weighted?

spot and centre
why would you think a camera form 198X is gonna have matrix metering?
>>3020535
Cuz it's p and people here are retarded?
>>3020537
Matrix metering was introduced in 1983 you dim witted cunt.
>>3020539
Name six cameras from 1983 that have it
>>3020545
It was introduced, not widespread, dipshit. The OM-4 and the FA were the first cameras, I believe.
Modern DSLR's only have center weighted because some autistic photographers from the film era got used to it and refuse to switch to matrix despite being better.

Center weighted 99% of the time you can tell this just by looking at the focusing screen.
My F3 has no backlight, so I cannot meter in the dark what to do, /p/?
>>3020632
Get an F4. Also, FM2 kinda vague +o- LED master race.
>>3020557
OM-4 has multispot metering, quite a different thing. When that function isn't used, it goes for a broad old 40-60 center-weighted pattern, similar to the F2.

>not knowing what your camera is even metering off
Yeah, it's so great, I wonder why more people don't use it?
>>3020651
Kek I didn't know you could take off the F4's bottom grip.
It's actually a pretty nice camera but 2much eletronics4me.

>letting a camera decide your exposure for you
>calling actual photographers autistic
Maybe you should git gud
