I know 10,000 is supposed to imply a long, arduous, time-consuming experience over years and decades, but I shot almost 4,000 photographs just at the final NFL game of the season. So maybe not so relevant in the digital era.

it implies the actual photos and the very process of editing, darkroom hours, prints and what not. if you take that number and the full work, experimentation and study it involves, yeah, you come out of it being pretty fucking decent.
