Yes, all on my hasselblad. Just did my first round of selects, I got just over 50 images I'm happy with out of 120. My 220 back has a light leak and fucked up about six really nice frames. Thats what I get for shooting slide anyway. All the stuff I've posted so far is 120 Portra 400, indate film. I will post more today. Hoping to have the whole set done and self publish in a MagCloud magazine before Feb 20, for the 1 month mark.

how easy -or hard- is to do such shots with a hasselblad? i think its impressive, the same with a TLR, how in fuck would the old guys focus, compose and snap on the fly...of course there is zone focusing, but even at f/16 you can still separate different DOF planes.

I try to avoid shooting below 1/125 and use 400 ISO. During the Inauguration and the day preceding it, I was metering around f8 at 1/160 or 1/200 so I was usually shooting at 1/250 at f5.6 1/2. The Hasselblad only does 1/2 stop increments. I usually just choose subjects that lend themselves to patient shooting, but even so, I can rock a frame off pretty fast with a split prism focusing screen. Focus, push down the magnifier, compose, fire. I usually remeter as light changes, not as I come to a scene, son my settings are locked down already. Haven't shot f/16 in forever. I do use a fair amount of hyperfocal on static subjects but with people its focus on them and fire.

This image is an example of hyperfocal, where I put the foreground to near side of my in focus area to better pull the background details. Still not sharp on the monument but better than if I was losing half my DOF to a foreground you don't see due to framing.

I paid around $1250 for mine, in 2014. Which 80 is it?
Newest to oldest its CFi, CFE, CF, C new barrel design, C older barrel design, non T* coating C. The CFi contains more plastic parts and according to our good friend and close confidant Ken Rockwell, they stopped using leaded glass, which he thinks means it sucks or something. I have the C with T* coating that has the new barrel design. Sharp, great lens. The F designator means you can mount it on an F body and disable the shutter. They're all great. My first hasselblad came with a T* coated older design C super sharp.

I got a picture of the set that was up for sale, I think it's a T* judging by the red T* on the front.

I really like how film looks, and medium-format even more. I do have a Nikon but it broke, kind of discouraged me from shooting more film because everyone said they are virtually indestructible. Then again sometimes you are just unlucky.

I would love to try out medium-format though, it has a really nice look that digital doesn't really offer.

if you can afford it and enjoy squares, do it. I've never had much love for 2:3 ratio. Even 4x5 is a weird ratio. I love square images. I don't know the ratio on a polaroid peel apart but thats a nice near square.
Alternatively, I'm finding I enjoy my widelux, but not enough to justify keeping it at the price I paid. It's on the way out too. Thinking really hard about getting an SWC.

Double post but I forgot to mention, yes thats a C 80mm T* with the newer Prontor shutter. Should last forever and provided you dont drop it, is indestructible as far as I've found. I've owned 2 bodies, 3 different 80s, and now a 120mm lens, all of it is just designed for maximum abuse it seems.

This picture is one I really love. The fence and the toilets stand in contrast to our country's highest legislature. The statue in the front is of two figures representing Grief and History. Grief is being consoled by History. It is called the Peace Monument, originally built in 1877 to honor the naval deaths of the Civil War. It wasn't completed and there was no ceremony when it was set in place. I felt it was a good example of the history of our time that it would be where the port-a-potties were.

This image by Damon Winter from the NYT is stunning too. He deserves another Pulitzer soon.

dunno what you guys are looking into these photos, but i see a bunch of normal people. i dont see the "weird" part, also i dont see the necessity of mocking the looks or clothing on them, thats just, how to say it, low, specially since there is no irony or wit in the words, but plain bitterness.

I mean to say it was very surreal for me. The divisiveness of the people I met and photographed was really jarring. I'm a white, middle class, college educated man, and I while I've been surprised we elected the guy who was on the Apprentice as the leader of the largest country in the Western world, it didn't devastate me. We reap what we sow, and our country planted this divisiveness. That being said, the extremist views, of the far left and far right, were on display and neither were at all appealing. To imagine traveling thousands of miles just to tell someone that the out-going president is a scumbag or that the new president isn't "our president" was really bewildering to me. It went against every concept of unity and the strength I thought my country was based on. It wasn't pretty. It was surreal and I really couldn't believe I was in the capitol of the United States encountering this kind of hateful, spiteful rhetoric. It felt like I was in another world.

Monsters is a good episode but I feel it would've been even better if the UFO at the end was just an American military plane or similar.
Eye of the Beholder is something relevant to today. I don't believe, with the exception of some of the "alternative facts" level stuff, that we are heading toward an Orwellian future. I see parallels between our current situation and Brave New World. Protestors and activists are nice, but tweeting and hashtagging doesn't replace actual political conversations.
And Nightmare at 20,000 has the best ending.

I find the symbolism in it myself. I can agree to be successful on a broad range, it would need to be more obvious. I find a lot of images are interesting but when coupled with a caption that highlights something you may not know or may have missed, can turn a good image into a much more insightful image. Taryn Simon's work and how she incorporates mixed media and esoteric avenues of information really blows me away
