Damn this could be good if you didnt rape the sliders. As much as this seems like a foreign land, you're still photographing the arctic banal, so you have to edit accordingly. Joel Tettamanti is the king of this niche, you should check his stuff out. Notice how his image looks exactly how our eyes might perceive the environment rather than a digital glorification of a technically boring subject. I think the framing is alright, but you can see through your editing to see that you wanted this picture to look beautiful and vibrant - like you're trying a little too hard to get something extravagant from a dull yet surreal subject. Approach it in a documentary manner instead of your aunt who just went to iceland trying to sell prints on etsy.

If I remember correctly I've criticised her for not editing her selections down more, not for the order in which she has posted her images. I realise I'm a hypocrite either way, but thought I might as well nudge you into more valid criticism. I haven't 'shit on' her for either. The only time I've given Isi pretty strong criticism was in her rainbow people thread, which is the only thread of hers I've seen which I thought was a complete failure. Yeah, I wish I could have. We were on ropes and crampons at the time and on a pretty precarious staircase made of solid ice - I just couldn't reach. Attached image is of said staircase. Still, this and another of the ice shots are among what I think are the best of my photos from the trip.

Yeah I was comparing the 5D to the D700 and oversimplifying the fact that the features of each are aimed at two different types of shooting, and I had made the wrong decision in which I had chosen. I was brief because we were getting on the place quite soon.
My original intention was to have a solid concept before we left.
As the trip drew closer and I had nothing, I decided to find a story while we were out there.
In the end, as usual, I failed to find a cohesive idea to link all my images, and I'm pretty disappointed about that.
However. I do feel I greatly improved on my usual standard holiday snap fare. I am pleased with some of the compositions and the way I was drawn to inherently interesting shapes/patterns/colours rather than just big stuff.
I don't expect to convince you of anything but thought I should expand on the vagueness from yesterday.
