Hi people, do you think its worth upgrading to a 6D or waiting and paying more for a 6D mkII when its out?
Currently have a 70D and do a lot of landscape stuff so i'm not too fussed about the 6D not having many AF points!
also the pic isn't mine, I just think its incredible

The 6D won't be such a big upgrade from the 70D as you think.
Switching systems for FF would be much more so, even staying crop on another system like Nikon or Pentax would give you more of an upgrade than the 6D.

the canon 6D is full frame and would be a reasonable upgrade from a 70D.
Buy a 2nd hand 6D instead of a 6D II and spend the difference on a nice lens.

This is what Canon plebs believe
Fun fact, a common entry level crop DSLRs has the same sensor performance as the 5Ds
Like I said switching systems for a modern crop DSLR would be much more of an upgrade than upgrading to the 6D.

the 6D is trash. 11 point autofocus with only 1 cross, no backup card slot, low fps, gimped software.
If you were using some 15 year old body like a 30D or something maybe the 6D would impress you, but with a 70D it's a complete waste to upgrade to an outdated canon-fucked-up-on-purpose 6D in 2017.
There's some chance they'll handicap the sequel less, if they were to make it like 80% of the 5d-IV at 50% of the price, then it'd actually be an upgrade over your 70d.

the 6D is a full frame sensor... as I said before.
It's also a reasonable upgrade to a 70D for someone invested in Canon lens system who wants to upgrade.
UNLESS you're shooting sports/ wildlife/ scenes where fast focus and zoom range are an advantage, then go crop4life.

It really, really is. At a glance it almost looks like he mixed a space picture into the cityscape, the lights look like stars. It's pretty spectacular. Any idea what city this is?

>needing any of those things for amateur landscape photos
Get a 7D mk II instead
Its extremely underpriced for what it can do and won't cost you 2 grand

7DII has worse specs than the 70D, mate, especially the sensor performance
It is a sports camera, not designed for higher dynamic range for landscapes
Long time user of a rebel xti (laugh all you want). Built up a collection of glass, then sprung for the 6d last year (too cheap for a 5d). Dropped a quad split focusing screen from a 1d in there too.
Night and day difference, after using the xti for ~9 years. No idea how it stacks up to a 70d though. It's a nice camera though.
