You need a subject. Otherwise the picture is pointless. Pay attention to what lines lead to what. Pay attention to what colors stand out and what parts have contrast. Don't be affraid to rearange things yourself. Just make sure not to make it obvious. Just keep on taking pictures and think about how to improve each time.

Aboutness is overrated, capturing a mood, a feeling, it can be about that too. I don't think every photograph requires mental arrows pointing to what you should be looking at to be appreciated.
