Wouldn't the optical zoom be like the analog zoom?

I don't understand why people say optical zoom is better than digital zoom.

If it is ananlog, then there are huge lossess due to the analog nature of adding a lot of noise.

Why isn't digital zoom better, if you convert everything to 0 and 1 you can never lose quality because it will always be 0 and 1.

Just like CD is better than vinyl.

That's actually true in a molecular level that's why a full memory card or HD weights more than an empty one.
>>
It would be worse if you used a magnifying glass to zoom

Everyone knows MP3 files deteriorate over time, that's why they're called "lossy" files.

>>
>>2986091
This is true. Single points of film are either active or not active, there's no smooth gradation. Whereas before hitting the adc, the digital readout is completely smooth and rest on any number of infinite values between active and inactive
>>
>>2986157

Brugh it can't be infinite values if you need discrete photons

That's why CCD is supossed to be better than CMOS.

no, that's retarded.

CCD is more analog than CMOS
>>
>>2986279
Only in the sense that the currents are exposed to greater levels of electromagnetic interference. Not a good thing.
