I actually like the second one better. But here is how I would edit it. I did the crop, and then did some down&dirty level adjustments, with slight brightness&contrast. It was all slider work, but this will give you a good idea of something different. Or another way of looking at it. I like it because you get direct happy face.

Just want to stress this.

I took this dog in at 12 yrs from a neglectful home. He ha mange, untreated arthritis, his nails were several inches long and he could barely walk.

I had him less than a year but these pictures remind me that I gave him a good last year of his life and that means a lot. I'm now planning to give one as a gift and keep one for myself.
