polarising and special effect filters are the only ones that can't be reproduced digitally easily.

ND's and grads can be done in seconds.
>>
Polarizing filters are really important in certain product and still life photography, and moderately so otherwise.

Color filters are helpful in very select circumstances as well if you are incredibly picky.

For example, in lighting where one channel (R/G/B) will be overwhelmed by a color light source. Sodium vapor lamps are one example.

Special effects filters are lame, but nothing in Photoshop looks exactly like the physical effects.

What replies you looking for son?

ND - set the correct exposure at your slowest iso, plug in a remote and put it on burst. Merge all the images later in ps.

Grad - Do it in post, or if you must do it properly, take a bracketed shot and fade one shot into the other.

Starburst/andromeda/soft focus/split image/etc are incredibly hard to replicate in post so they look like they should.

polarising/colour polarisers are next to impossible to replicate in post.

Polariser is far more important than any other filter m8
