Well I don't think that's thunder m8

what do you think of this lightning bolt?
>>2976322
It's pretty shitty in just about every regard. There's really no redeeming quality to this photo at all.
It's a shitty , uninteresting lightning bolt. The bolt is the key to these shots, and this one is boring as fuck.
80% of this shot is absolutely nothing. Literally, it's just black. It's fucking wasted space here. You don't have to fill up every corner of a frame, but this is just nothingness with no purpose.
Not a damn thing is in focus.
The foreground shit is fucking nothing. It's just a jumbled, poorly exposed, shiity colored corner of a building. It's not interesting in any way. It doesn't add anything to the photo.
There is no thought to composition or framing or anything like that.
That distortion is fucking garbage.
This is a fucking train wreck. That doesn't mean you can't learn, but don't kid yourself on this shot. It's garbage.

Do you live near the Twilight Zone?

what?
>>2976322
Congratz on you lucky snap.
For starters, it's very badly exposed, blurry and the lightning is very uninteresting to begin with.
Now keep practicing.
Then come back.

>Congratz on you lucky snap.
Lightning shots are anything but luck if you know what you're doing. It's more staged and methodical than most shit. As long as you've got a storm, any competent photographer should be able to get solid lightning shots.

Thanks! :)

set aperture to 11 iso 100 take two or three snaps to adjust exposure. Grab lawn chair and beer, enjoy the show, occasionally trigger shutter.
