getting depressed with how generic my style has come to
i started on a canon ae-1 and grew to love the grainy look as well as its dramatic shadows, since then i've moved onto using a sony a6000 and try imitate the look on lightroom
generally just becoming bored with how i edit all my pictures, so i'd love some critiques on what i can change
i'll be posting what i consider my best pictures

I don't know OP, I really like it how it is. Always nice seeing photos in which shadows are dark. They all seem to be a little green, maybe try some other color. Guess you got to sit down and think about what you're trying to convey in each postprocess.

These skin tones looks really green to me, but maybe it'd look odd if the skin was corrected but the rest of the image still had that emerald tint you seem to be into.

If I'm feeling creative I'll use Paletton and decide on a palette, fit the colors within that range, split tone a little if it needs some more color, try for contrast.
Usually I just put on RNI and post it in the film thread, been doing it for a few months now. If I do that then the extent of my adjustments will be dodge / burn and temperature and healing / cloning.
The link is the latest version of RNI with Lightroom and ACR presets and the camera profiles. Your camera's in there, I checked.
You know, if you see a photo with post processing you like, try to track it to their person website instead of Facebook or Instagram or Twitter because the EXIF information might still have the Lightroom settings and you can use that to study.

You know something cool about gradient maps? In the game Star Wars: The Old Republic, gradient maps were used to simulate multiple light sources from just one. So you'd have this object lit by one light source, and that light source would wrap all around it (half-lambert, doesn't matter if you don't know what it is, just means it didn't really have shadows) and then that would go through a gradient map which would add a color for the brightest area, then it would fade around half-way to a dark ambient color, and then it would get bright again to simulate a fill light.

and yeah, i use red focus points too but sometimes i don't know if i'm hitting the peak of the focus since i sort of have bad eyesight even using the viewfinder

are gems desu. i think you've got a good eye. your exposures settings are usually good. i would say make sure to hit focus, maybe get a little closer more often to fill your frames, give it a more claustrophobic feel idk ur almost there.
anyways enough rambling. filtering your work is half the battle. I'd say most of these arent keepers, but a few are very good. That's a trend in every ones work. But if you narrowed down this group of photos to like 4-5, I'd say it's pretty solid.

I have seen your work from film to digital and I like it all. Your issue is you don't. You just experienced a paradigm shift by swtching to digital and need to recenter yourself and go beyond film limitations. Never copy what you did in the past, but I believe you know that. I know how you feel right now, I started with a 35 mm Cannon AE1 and a Nikon FE and moved to digital. Your art will always shine through.

no I mean like an actual, deliberate photo series, not a collage of the snaps you took that day. As in: set out to photograph something or create photographs that fit a particular theme, with the goal of presenting them in a series.
