the perspective is the biggest difference, you get a flat look close up that you really can't duplicate with 35mm

Problem with Blads is that they are cumbersome. Cost does not always equate quality. I like my old Mamiya 33 tlr. Great 6x6 pics, all mechanical and built like the proverbial brick shit house. For a couple hundred off CL or Ebay. Plus, you can impress your rich dad by telling him you'd like something that is just as good at a fraction of the cost. That statement alone will get you tons of goodies without whining later!

That's way too much camera for me. 100mp is going to be completely unforgiving in terms of technique, and it's fucking huge.

Get the x1d, 3 primes, a tripod and a new laptop.

Any modern laptop has more than enough power for photo editing. The advantages of portability outweigh the disadvantages of expandability/price. I would almost never use a fraction of the extra power that would be available with an equivalently priced desktop, and the money saved by buying an equivalently powered desktop wouldn't really last all that long, but I constantly make use of the fact that I can edit photos from the couch while watching TV, from my back yard hammock, from the car when I'm a passenger going somewhere, from an airplane, while waiting to get an oil change, at the local coffee shop, etc.
