The search box and the catalog is there because it's insanely hard to find the thread you're looking for on high volume boards like /v/ and /b/ and /a/. It's NOT to stop the creation of new content or new threads. It's always been poor etiquette on 4chan to bump old threads. This is a democracy. All of these photos are terrible. How did you manage to take no interesting photos in such an interesting environment. Aside from just the artistic flaws, you also don't seem to know how to properly use your camera. A lot of technical flaws in your settings.

At first I thought your slow shutter was on purpose, but you seemed to have used the same settings for all photos. 1/50 is the absolute minimum for hand holding, but anywhere near that is way too slow for street photography (you used 1/60). In none of your photos are your subjects in focus. Not sure if it's an error in your exif data or your camera but some of your photos seem to not have a shallow depth of field. Which is strange since you're on aperture mode but chose to keep them all on f1.6 which is already a problem as it is too shallow for even regular street photography.

Overall, your pictures are pretty uninspired and show a lack of technical understanding. You rushed to get these shots and somehow let that distract you from delivering.

Try again. Next time, post on a general thread for protest shots (or start it yourself). If you can't find it right away, look through the catalog mode. Just because you'll be posting on a day old thread doesnt mean no one will see your pictures.

The only two "good" photos in the thread and they're not that great.

The first photo quoted does nothing to give you an idea of what this gathering was about. This photo could have been taken at any time during the last year and it would be the same. It's a failure because it fails to capture any of the spirit of the protest.
The second photo works only because there's a clearly defined subject, but fails because it's out of focus and has motion blur.
Every other shot kinda fails because it completely fails to capture the spirit of the event and is just a picture of some signs or hands. There's no particular focus on anything at all. Take your time, compose your shots and find a subject. Second to that, take more shots of people and don't be scared. You're supposed to be there to document the event, so do so.

I understand that the left are known for being violent when protesting or taking it out on the photographer but it's your job to overcome that. Otherwise you're just at a rally or protest for now reason.
