dude u should try out the Pen cams instead of being so upsset, they are fantastic. great lens, ultra bare-bones, extremely low profile, 72 shots per roll, fits in your pocket. i used a Pen S for a couple years before I got the W, and it's also a great cam (and can be had for pretty cheap). yoshihisa maitani knows his shit.

No, not me. We are talking about you. Your work is still in cosplay stage. You have the camera, the pushed film, the contrasty grainy aesthetic, the gritty subject, the snapshit approach, yet all of this falls flat because it feels void of content and emotion. I cant see your personal quirks here, i dont see your style, i dont see your interests at play. Cant see your individuality in those photos. All i see is someone hiding in a facade that tries to be authentic, but the more he tries, the phonier it all looks.

actually, i think those are some legitimate points to make. but i'm not emulating any one person - i like some of the provoke guys but i'm also heavily influenced by a lot of other photographers and writers. moriyama (who btw i'm not a big fan of, even among the provoke set - i don't like diaristic stuff and his work seems thoughtless, especially recent shit) doesn't have a monopoly on contrast and grain. klein? frank? friedlander?
