Post a photo more cliche than this, i dare you
>>2958963
this might be my first time seeing a photo like this
Anything by Jake Olson.
>>2958963
Dude, a girl on railways. THAT is cliche. Or better even a band.
>>2958963
If this is OC then it's not bad. The seated pose gives it a slightly random vibe - she should really be walking down the road for maximum clicheability.
>>2958992
>digital """"""""""""tones"""""""""""""""
>>2958999
no its not mine, im just being an ass and judging others work while simultaneously not improving mine
but yes you are right
Don't have any saved but the self-portrait with a camera in your face is definitely more cliché
>>2959005
Hehe - all work and no play is definitely to be avoided.
challenge accepted
>Le HDR church
>>2959080
I'm usually pretty good at being able to consider ideas from other perspectives, but of all the awful things in photography, overcooked "HDR" is the one that I really can't comprehend how anyone thinks it looks good.
>>2959079
Not so much cliched as contrived.
>pointless Dutch angle
>utterly incongruous chair
Risible.
>>2959080
imaging actually making that and then being so frightened that someone would steal it you needed a watermark.
Sun holding - all variants
Honourable mentions: frames, selective colour, fake flare
>>2959100
Believe it or not, people steal much shittier photos.
I knew I "photographer" at a small gallery in Texas took a lot of horse photos, bland shitty photos. She went to an art show in a town like 3 hours away and there was another "photographer" that had stole her photo of that horse off facebook (yes very low resolution) and framed it to sell at an art show.
I saw the photo, it was literally the same shitty photo. People will steal anything. I've even had my photos stolen and used as branding for companies
>>2958963
Here's a fun game,
Google "Senior Photos (your city)" and post results
>The no foreground background
the same shot of the tetons ever taken
>wow!

Oh guys, what are you even talking about? You can post ANY random photo and it's always cliche. Why? Because photography is overdone to no limit. EVERY photo is already taken. And not 1 time but hundret-thousands of times.
And that's how you define a cliche. Cliche is repetition.
flower bokeh
>>2959121
That's incredibly over-simplified because despite there being a lot of people taking a lot of photos, some are simply done more than others because it's what we tend to do first before we grow beyond them, or before we stop.
Cliche isn't just repetition in general, it's a phrase or opinion that is overused and betrays a lack of original thought, like the reductionist "All photos were already taken so every photo is cliche".
astrophotography is comprised exclusively of cliche photos.

Are there bodies with HDR that bad in-camera now, or do people actually go to the effort to shoot multiple exposures and combine the photos in pp just to make it look this terrible?

>>2959080
I haven't ever seen a HDR photo that was even remotely pleasing to look at. Do they even exist?
>>2963303
>Do they even exist?
Yes. The reason you think you've never seen one is because when it's done right by someone who knows what they're doing, you won't be able to tell it's HDR.
Alot of people confuse tonemapping for HDR, which is a whole other thing. I'll agree that a "good" tonemapped image does not exist.

I am one of those people that has lived trains since childhood and likes taking pictures of them and I still don't get this trend. I never really feel compelled to shoot down train tracks unless there is actually a train on them. And putting people on there is just stupid. I once spotted a group of people who had a camera on a tripod along with flashes and an umbrella, right there on the God dann tracks with a huge intermodal freight train barelling in their direction. Why are you against alterations in general? It's not like what the camera captured is true to real life anyway.
