>going to niagara falls to take pictures
what a hack.
>>2958523
>Going to Niagara Falls to visit family
>Camera surgically attached to wrist
nothing I can do about it, sorry champ
if you can't get a good crop of it then maybe it's best without a crop
or maybe it's just not a good photo
i think it could go either way really, i can't decide
>>2958530
Fair enough. Was just one of my throwaways that I thought I might be able to grab something out of.
>>2958528
Sorry buddy, just joshing around
I quite like the photo as it is. Not sure about the vignette though.
>>2958536
All good pal
There's actually no vignette applied, the photo just sorta naturally had it. I'll try to reduce it in some way and see how it looks though, thanks

i think it'd be better to see where they're going rather than where they came from, even if it's compositionally acceptable to crop like this
Tbh I like the crop in op.
>>2958901
I prefer both, and the haze in OP's makes it clear that we know out past, but our futures remain uncertain. While we may "know" what lies ahead, the fog obscures it.
>>2958903
i like it
the original photo is the best one, just need to somehow fix the vignette so it looks cleaner
Water is beautiful, but the picture is of the boat, so that can be cropped out. The boat says "mist" so the most important part of the image is the mist - that's where the boats going and its nothingness contrasts with the beauty of the sea (and is more important). That's my take and my crop anyway - also changed curves a bit.

>>2958514
> fragile mankind surrounded by the infinite loneliness of chaotic nature
I personally prefer the latter as I'm a sucker for the Herzogian take on the nature vs civilization theme. Aesthetically I also love the high contrast in the water and the way the dark corners frame the subject in the centre. Beautiful greens too.

>>2959654
It's not much of a feat if it was a low-contrast dogshit scene in the first place.
I still think OP image is the best, has that small craft on violent rapids feel with the boat being centered.
>>2959291
best crop by far.
>>2958867
>muh rule of thirds
>>2959691
Stop samefagging OP, that crop is as shitty as the photo itself
I like the version in OP
>>2960055
Me too.
I've never been but is the water super green? Or did you do that for some reason?
regardless of colour, I like the OP
>>2960112
there is a gursky photo of niagara, it looks super green too.
Take an otherwise boring image and add some excitement, re-tell the story, as only a cropped photo can.
Horror at Niagara Falls
Taken moments before the storm surge overturned the Maid of the Mist, sending all the Canadian Migrants to their watery graves, a Pulitzer Prize winning image by OP, showing the final moments of immigrants trying to make their way to freedom, a shocking human tragedy that shines a spotlight on the true cost of human trafficking, 79 adults and 23 children died in the tragedy.
>>2960175
The Maid of the Mist is the American-side boat.
>>2960181
Yes, but to make a few extra dollars in the off season Pradjeep Patel was using the cover of the tourist boat to smuggle Canadian Refugees into the US, it was a risky but lucrative endeavor, making the run during storms through the treacherous Mawsaganent Trough, all the while dodging the US Coast Guard, it was dangerous for the boatman and the Migrants but the rewards, freedom in a land of prosperity were believed to be worth it. Mayor Dyster said it was a tragedy for all involved, he thanked the first responders and asked that everyone hold their loved ones a little closer tonight, he will recommend a blue star commission be established to determine how best to prevent future tragedies, a White House spokesman indicated that the President was informed of the incident during his daily golf outing.
(A memorial and candlelight vigil will take place at the Sepulchre of the River Non-Denominational Evangelical Chapel on Rainbow Blvd (next to Smoking Joe's Cigarette Shoppe), a donation of frozen foods is requested, all are welcome, Country Dan and the Jamborees will perform.)
