Like the camera capture for D70 ~ D100. Those old cameras...
They did, fucktard. It's called Capture NX-D. It's free, it's the newest and best version of their nx software, and it supports all of their cameras, from the D1 to the D5.

"Nai-kon" is the official North American pronunciation.
The British "Nick-un" isn't really any closer to the Japanese "Nee-kohn," and "Nikon" also isn't a real word so there's no real pronunciation anyway. (The Japanese version is closest to the German "Ikon," the camera Nikon ripped its name from, though.)

Exactly.
And to clarify for English speakers: Ikon is pronounced "ee-kon", not "eye-kon"

Or you could just pronounce it correctly. I bet you drop the 'y' out of Hyundai as well.
It's not like Nikon is some fucked up foreign word. It's literally easier to pronounce it properly than it is to butcher it.

Never thought of that.
Always assumed it was just supposed to be a clever contraction of NIppon KOugaku.
