Depends, do you want to save yourself the trouble and buy one with a lens error right from the start, or do you prefer ticking time bombs?

One that just wurks. in general I'm looking for a video camera with the quality of the s120 or better for the s120's price range or less.

Sounds like you want a camcorder.
I had an S100, outside of the "danger zone" serial number range for lens failures, and it still crapped out after about a year. Canon claims it was only a problem with a small number of cameras but it's bullshit and seems to happen frequently with all the S cameras.

Damn. i really wanted a camera that can record good 1080p. Any suggestions?

Sony RX100, whichever generation you feel like paying for. It's the best pocket-sized zoom camera on the market and does pretty good video.

It's pretty expensive desu, I'd have to save money for it.

How small do you need the camera to be? You could look into an older generation Panasonic micro 4/3 camera, they do really nice video and can be had for really cheap, especially around Black Friday.

Pocket size is preferably, but I could go a tad bit larger if price lowers.

Totally noob too, thinking about getting a GoPro, is GoPro any good? Just wanna take videos while being touristfag.

I was really surprised at how cheap those LX100's are, actually.
Dey real bossy; small, fast sharp zoom, great manual controls, "big" sensor, shots patrician 3:4 aspect ratio.
