Even high tier scientists know that hoods are for plebs.
Their only purpose is to gouge money from amateurs. Real pros can handle the flare.
te ala mierda con tu foto maricon inbesil jajajaja

A lens hood is extra weight you can't afford on a space probe.
>>2945587
they can't afford to bring a hood.

You are naive.

I don't think that Japanese moon surveyor probe brought any golf clubs on the trip.
Next time try to read what is on the screen you fuckwit

I suspect that's caused by the meteor proof window.

Are you saying the moon landings are real?

It's almost like they think the specifications web page is going to be transmitted to the fucking orbiter.

Also: they totally could have shrouded it a bit.

This optimized 'for mobile devices' and 'interstellar tranmission' thing has now officially become tedious.

Implying hoods aren't the only thing that prevent clumsy people from damaging their front elements.

Cheers big ears, although I'm not going to post it anywhere else.
The nights are drawing in on this side of the planet. Might try another go at the moon. Pic related is one of my best. I know it's a bit big but the file size is small (I have posted it before). With the right seeing and pp I reckon I could get better resolution but... so much potential for: "meh".

Well yeah, but i meant higher resolution images of the equipment specifications.

>equipment specifications
Yes, I was interested too. The FOV of the cameras and the photos do hint at the kit but there's no details (that I could find). There may be a Japanese page somewhere with specs. Could be TOP SECRET
I think the flare thing was just unavoidable given the blackness of space/sunlight in a vacume/protection. Capturing a cresent Earth will always be problematic.
When the Sun isn't interferring the images are pretty cool.

It's an artistic choice, you just don't get it.

guilty as charged
>>2946304
Actually this is probably the single best use for a hood. I cringe at people who pay a lot of money for top quality glass, then stick a UV filter of questionable quality on the front for protection. In 20 years I've never seriously damaged a front element, but hoods have saved me a few times.
Should've taken an A7, the iso would've made it pop

It's floating in space. It's weightless.
