What does /p/ think of Andreas Gursky?
I feel like we're kindred spirits. Lovers in a breeze unaware of each other but aware all the same.

I like how he can turn seemingly bland and uninteresing landscapes or everyday places into really clean and appealing pictures

There's been about 3 threads in the past month with this exact question and photo. Fuck off already you cunt, find someone knew to discuss.
Okay, change of topic. What does /p/ think of Alec Soth? Personally, I love his work...especially "Sleeping by the Mississippi" and "Niagara".
Here's an interview I found interesting where he talks about narrative and composing a series.

I don't think of him at all.
Never met him

I like him fine. He's good. He's not my favorite Dusseldrof photographer, though.
love most of his work.
i respect him for what he is and for the boundaries he pushed, but i dont give a fuck about his work. i like a lot more the work of people influenced by him.

I'm actually glad you posted that name. I remember seeing those snow pics a while back and liking them, but I couldn't remember who took them

his stuff is killer. if anyone had gearfagging urges on his work, he shoots a lot with a mamiya 7, 80mm lens and portra 160.
Hes alright, especially when paired with Ed Burtynsky.
Rhine II was a departure from his usual images of sublime manmade excess. Rhine II wasn't so much about the sublime as it was about the void - the total lack of detail. Its photographic minimalism in nature - quite a sidestep. I wouldn't buy it myself, but i understand the value of it on a theoretical level.

Actually, yes. That's true. Read the Hague Convention.
