So Iheard from some semi-reliable source (a Fuji distributor) that Fuji is about to discontinue Acros 100 in 35mm format. He said that they officially "know nothing", but they're expecting it any moment now.
Better stock up while you still can.

Fuji sounds so close to just moving to instax only
Fuji sounds so close to finally getting its jaw past their own sphincter.
>>2932943
Still not getting why anyone uses Instax. The quality is horrid, and the price is high.
>>2932943
Is there any serious risk we're going to lose Provia? I'd need to stock up...
Fuck I just bought microfine developer specifically for Acros yesterday. Acros is my favorite bw film :(
fucking hell.
>>2932638
what about 120 OP?
>>2932963
There's literally no better or cheaper instant film.
>>2933026
>implying this means it's not expensive shit
>>2933026
it has horrible colors.
Thinking anyone shoots instax for quality or colors.
It's about shooting photos that you can give to friends/acquaintances in the moment. It's jot about photographic quality in any way. The EXACT same mindset as the original consumer Polaroid cameras.

Instants are great for social occasions. People love having their photo handed to them straight away at parties or w/e. No-one really prints their photos anymore these days so it's a cool novelty.
>>2933032
It has excellent colors. You're just salty for... who knows why.
>>2932638
Damn i hope this turns out to be a rumor .
I don't shoot a lot of it in 135 but if this is true then 120 will be on the chopping block too in the near future.
I mean what is an alternative b/w film that has similar reciprocity characteristics ?
>>2933071
yeah i agree , i like instax colours a lot and pretty much every person who looks at my instax photos talk about the colours
Fuji is one of the last good camera makers, please no!

Delta 100 at a push/T-Max.
Acros is kind of unique imo, but it could go just like ol' neopan did.
first neopan now this?
im literally going to douse myself with gasoline & set myself on fire in front of fuji HQ
>>2932964
Who cares. It has shit magenta/cyan colors anyway.
>>2933990
>Provia going magenta
Wat? In overcast / shady conditions it goes a bit cool. Never seen in go magenta tho. Is your lab fucking up?
>>2933942
Just looked up the charts for those films again for the first time in years
i think im going to have to drag a chair and charts along with me if i did long exposures with them

that cuck uploads only landscape trash.
>>2935785
So do most photographers, but I'm told I'm not allowed to call everyone like that trash just because they shoot non-moving objects m8
>>2935794
but hes a curator, his work is to select and put up top stuff, leave it to the photographers to upload endless uninteresting shit.

NEVER EVER trust what a Fuji Distributor says. They don't know anything.
Now, if Fuji is still making E-6 films then they would still be making Acros, since Acros sells far more than their slide films.
Fuji is making a lot of films that sell LESS than Acros, for example pro color neg films like NPS and NPC160/400, also specialist/niche films like Natura (Superia) 1600 ISO.
Their last choice for discontinuing film would be what sells more -- basically C200 (iso 200 color neg) and Fuji Acros.

I have a big stock of Acros 100 in my house. But if it were to be discontinued i wouldn't cry. Delta 100 has better tonality and grain that is just slightly bigger. Pan F has equally small grain (but lower speed). You can also "pull" many ISO 100 films to diminsh grain (at ISO 50) at the benefit of lower contrast, unlike Acros which has too harsh contrast at ISO 100 and weird (= not so nice) color spectrum response.
