Okay the story behind this one was a challenge called "Household product shoot"
The challenge was to take a single speedlight and camera. no mounts, not umbrella, no remote or wired triggers. just you camera and a unmounted slave flash.
I ended up taking a box cutting a hole in the back and the opening was pinned with tissue paper
was a fun experience, definitely makes you think outside the box

Very nice. My advice would be to choose scenes where the main center of focus is more isolated; right now there's a lot going on. There's nothing wrong with including several different elements, but you don't want too many so that the subject loses it's distinctiveness (or that there's no subject at all).
This could make things better or worse, and I think what you have is already great, so take my word with a grain of salt.

correct, 1.4 art. it's in focus though, i use oil softening techniques to try give it a creamy look which makes it look out of focus. however i completely agree it misses focus more than 70% of the time at 1.4 and is terrible hence why it is getting sold in a couple of weeks. gonna have to spend insane money on the 35l ii for something better that actually focuses sad times
