Yeah, I gotta say, these are all pretty bad. For a photo to draw people in, it should have meaning and good composition. Why would the viewer care about a stack of overexposed watermelons? The photo does not a story and nor was was not shot in any creative way, as to make it interesting.
>>2931118
i thought the van and boxes and propped up table hinted at farmers market setting. theyre green and juicy. who was it that said i take shots of things i want to see photographed. something along those lines with that shot.
Actually, I'm going to disagree and say I think the photos are rather fine. They are well composed and executed photos of nothing too interesting.
If you find a subject matter and photograph it over long time with style like this, it will be worthwhile.
What film? Looks like slide but I'm not sure
babbys first slide film / 10

Use the border if you won't. It doesn't really matter. But don't be diluted into believing that it makes the photos better. Focus on content.
>>2931168
I see. There was a debate about cropping other day, this is somewhat an exercise in cropping and color

Okay not gonna rip into your work, but gonna give you some solid criticism
Firstly these photos above are wonderful, but are missing a key component, a story.
For example:
>>2931098
Good, but you know what would throw it through the roof? maybe someone leaning on the front of it. or the hood open and tools strewn about. what you have here is a parked car, about as interesting as a wall of paint. adding a person or a REASON adds flavour.
>>2931095
Maybe could add a car driving way or even the dust kicked up by the tires
>>2931099
All you need is to change the perspective. I would have taken this shot to the right and low a bit. maybe ask the Mexican there with the machete to cut one open and snap it then. sweat of the brow, juice of the melon. easy story.
>>2931114
I would say this is objectively the best of what you have here. Old ww2 photos
Daddy and daughter
kind gives you chills of the past I like it

first one, Every clean, needs a subject past the leaf, maybe a lady bug or a preying mantis would make this photo POP. right now its more minimalist desktop background.
Second. Blur and black man. its and alright style choice with the right subject. too many leaves on the tree casts too much black causing the photo to just be a mess.
Third.
My favorite of the set. the colors and shadows are stunning. the darks aren't too dark, the reds and greens pop and white on the bricks add highlight in needed areas, very well composed.
Although if that is water underneath would have loved too see that, that would have made a great story to the piece. Because in that case the water becomes the background the the bricks the subject. right now the piece is Bricks are subject and background which makes this piece minimal, pretty for what it is.
Although its missing a subject. adding the water would have made this piece for me, but if you added a subject, maybe where those marks are center brick is a logo or something interesting, like maybe a crowbar leading out of frame. that would say the story of demolition
>>2931094
You captured some good colors in the sunset. Although i'm sure the shadow streaking from the cloud drew more attention irl. You're still missing an important subject to create a strong impression here, otherwise this is just okay.
>>2931095
You have caught the shadow areas and the sunlight on the foliage really well. You're at least getting your exposures down. You have leading lines but missing a subject where they all converge. also the brown square on the rhs could go. Best to crop out that side in general.
>>2931105
great city view!
>>2931114
My favorite one here! I like clean and neat architecture. and you have some subjects! Real foreground subjects will make a wide shot plenty more interesting. This is gud. Tell me, did you do EV compensation on this shot?
>>2931116
There is a lot of detail in this shot but it is just empty. The best change would be if the woman in beige was twisting to look at the window behind her. Fashion pose.
These aren't too bad. Focus is sharp, you know your exposures well, and you're using that on colorful scenes. This is more than most photogs can say on here.
>>2931644
Nooo.... Your focus is sharp but this is not a good subject. There's not enough separation from the subject to bg either. Like what about pictures of those berries in the top corner?
>>2931645
There is so much drama and tension going on here but for what? Go back and use that tension by shooting a costume creature here. Like this is definitely some terror BG but you still need a terror in here.
>>2931648
the texture and grit of the bricks shows off really well here good jorb. great use of light. this is stock material right here.
Just keep shooting you will get better.
>>2931662
Yeah I thought the right side would go unnoticed and my eye was drawn there as well, it's the fence that ruins it.
The subjects on the status are unfortunately in the shade. I think I did aperture priority. Tbh I thought these shots that at first had no redeeming value but I cropped and worked in post to try and make them presentable. EV? Maybe -.3 at the time I'd have to look later.
>>2931117
Probably my favorite just for the depth and color
