I'm not sure what you meant by the 1st sentence, I'm gonna guess you're ESL, I take snaps every time we walk the dog somewhere nice and the white borders and synopsis are a small dig at some of the less creative members of the board.

>>2929669
Thanks :)

>>2929672
Thanks, the last 2 shots the light was failing fast, if you underexpose and try and recover in post you quite quickly get muddied flat tones, I'd rather a dark photo than one with an unaesthetic colour palette, I considered matteing them (raise black point) but I'm not chasing meme looks, they do little for me.

I hear what you're saying, but I still think that bumping the exposure just a tad and adding a touch of microcontrast would help.

>>2929655
pretty good

meh, the greens are nice but the city behind draws a bit too much attention to itself without being a real point of interest. Would have preferred a completely white background as in some of the other shots

I don't really like the crushed blacks that much, a wider range of tonality (and detail) in the tree would've been better imo

I tried this in post originally, i didn't like it.

>>2930070
Apart from the b&w one i haven't gone over 1% black, the resizing and convert to srgb may not have helped, an uncalibrated monitor will have difficulties showing detail in the shadows as they are close to black.

Yes i do, i can't say it upsets me knowing I'm practically unbeatable when it comes to mental reasoning. Top ten thousandth of a percent in the country, if you want to know exactly how good. I know plenty of non autistic photographers that consider their shots too though, the more you do it, the more it becomes second nature, shooting extensively on film and mf definitely helped cement this idea.

>You basically shoot at the zoo.

thats true. but this >>2929665 is a pretty good zoo shot. its eerie, its like those photos of fake and supercrowded indoor beaches in japan. in that sense, the shot is better at that angle and distance, its detached and, in away, ridiculous. shame about the blurry deers, but its reshootable, its not that they are going anywhere.
>>
>>2929654
This is a bit too wide for my taste. I assume your subject is the lonely tree, but I would like it either more separated from the trees in the background by having it even brighter in contrast, or less separated by having it shot from slightly lower.

This is now my phone background, but it doesn't fit perfecly, pls upload a 744x1392 crop to make it perfect. Would like to see this also from slightly lower to make the deer fill the entire grass plain.

The rest I didn't care much for, but it's good to see you taking pictures. More of that and less bickering with the Wicked Witch of the Impoverished South.

I'm glad you picked up on that, I shoot based around colour and form with an emphasis on simple shapes and block colour. The dynamism comes from the solidity of the subject and how it interacts with it's surroundings.

I would like to hear why you believe the processing to be lacking.

Thanks for your comments :)

There is no emphasis on color in these. You are shooting in shitty mid-day light. Your skies look like shit for it. There are no "simple shapes" here, and there is no "block colour" here. Stop bullshitting yourself, son.

>The dynamism
What dynamism? There is literally nothing dynamic about a single image in this thread.

>I would like to hear why you believe the processing to be lacking.
Your blacks are crushed and your shadows too dark (partially because you shot in bad light), your greens are dull and slightly blue, and your black and white processing is simply convert-to-greyscale tier.

Some of our members get frustrated that they've been here for a long time, posted a lot of photos, and never get given the compliments and validation they feel they deserve.

They act out these frustrations through singling out those photographers that surpass them and try to make them feel less welcome here, this has varied in severity from negative critique to making fun of those with mental health issues, doxxing and even swatting one member of the board.

It is sad that some people get so upset from their lack of ability they feel the need to take it out on others, my best advice would be to reply with "lol, noob" wherever relevant, this is also applicable to attention seeking shitposters, for example;

Seriously it is. You could actually do some brief searching to figure this out for yourself. Kneejerk hating the South is pretty damn ignorant, especially if you're just talking about the geography and ecology of the region. From that standpoint it's probably the most interesting that all of the continental US has to offer.
>leaving the country will help you gain relativity
I've been to 36 countries on four continents. Still a lot left to see, but I'm pretty damn sure I'm better traveled than you.

I didn't claim Alabama was, I said the South. Alabama's interesting because it has facets of almost everything present in all of the South with the exception of tropical wetlands like the Everglades and some of the craziness that's in the swamps of Louisiana.
