I would like to get this book but the design looks so shitty. Original one was far better.

Photobook thread i guess.

Kill yourself. And fuck this shitty thread to death before it even starts.

I guess you're just a fag op
>>2927347
But im not judging the book. Im judging it as a whole object to acquire. It will look bad in my coffee table.
Just get the original one you fucking autist.
>>2927411
Well, don't worry. You can always be a poser somehow. Maybe buy a new pair of glasses?
>>2927326
There's loads of fap fodder on the internet OP, no need to waste money of books ... or does mommy set the child protection filters.

You're on the internet. You're on 4chan on the internet. You're in a particularly shallow and stupid thread worthy of derision on 4chan on the internet.
Do you really need to ask why? Is it your first day with everything ever?
went to London Taschen event once. It was a presentation of their few new books and shit. My god you guys shoudlve seen the fucking audience. Had to run to the nearest McDonalds to dilute from all those rainbow colours.
>>2927463
But why are you so mad at the fact i find the book's presentation vulgar?
The stupid red dot fucks everything. Show the damn clam or dont show anything, that half assed middle point is a terrible mistake. Also the lucky hole-red hole visual pun is abhorrent.

This guy knows whats up. Taschen is for art memers and posers.
>>2927326
Pretty cheap for a photobook too.
>>2927411
If you're looking for a good coffee table book I have "The Instagram Book" which I'd recommend. It's not massive but it's a collection of short interviews with people from instagram and a few of their shots.
>inb4 "why paying for instagram photos?
>>2927326
Tokyo Circulation by Shinya Arimoto. I was first turned onto this guy with his Airphoto series, and this book is like an omnibus version of that, plus more. A whopping 192 pages of amazing 6x6 shots from Tokyo, mostly street portraits, which is a big reason why I love this guy. If you live outside japan get ready to pay through the nose in shipping.

I bought it, I think you were the one who suggested it to me a while ago. It's a pretty big book by the way, bigger than I was expecting. Towards the end all the photos of muh gritty homeless people start to drag on and all look the same in my opinion, but there's some great stuff in the book especially at the beginning. Thanks for the recommendation.
Speaking of which, what other photographers are known for shooting square format? I'm not really sure how to search for that specifically.
I'm also considering getting another Japanese photobook as my next purchase. Provoke: Between Protest and Performance: Photography in Japan 1960-1975 is looking pretty good if Amazon gets it back in stock soon.

Let's say I want to get a photobook by Moriyama. Which one of his books is considered to be the most important?
>>2927928
The one with the haphazardly framed grainy black and white photos
>>2927926
>what other photographers are known for shooting square format?
rinko kawauchi, hellen van meene, diane arbus, roger ballen.
ive been wanting to get that provoke book too, its a steidl, so its bound to be top quality crafted too.

Michael Kenna.

btw you can search for more photographers who used 6x6 by looking for lists of famous TLR users, or Rolleiflex users, pretty sure someone made lists with that criteria.
richard avedons square polaroids are outstanding.

Nah.
I just bought pic related. Was this a good choice? I wanted something with fashion photography since I don't have anything like that and I've always liked Richard Avedon. I wasn't sure which book would be the best definitive book of his work though, normally I prefer to get something they released in their lifetime rather than a retrospective like this.
just got this big guy off ebay.

I bought Daido Tokyo and I'm really fascinated by the B&W section that is printed with silver ink on a black paper. It's not particularly hi-fi and it sometimes makes it hard to see what's on the photo, but it looks really eye-catching. I wonder if I can somehow replicate this at home.
Is this book good? Is it reddit?
