I like your photos for sure. Good work but the style is becoming pretty common. I'd like to see less "rap scene" photos and more model photos with emotional connection to the images.

I like the clean look of the site, and how easy it is to navigate. The only thing I would change would to section off the different types of photography, instead of all on one page. Great photos by the way.

A lot of people are saying that your style is close to what's popular on Insta (and I'd say Tumblr too plus whatever Urban Outfitters uses in its promotional work). So it does get a bit generic.

I can't help but think a lot of it is just the setting of your shots. It's the same colors and situations. I like the shot of the girl on the roof because that's more dynamic. So maybe you could try more diverse settings.

I would still point out the effort and variety is still there though. Portraits and night skies, in car, etc. So maybe just try doing it somewhere in a city. Or get more grit and dirt in your shots. It doesn't have to be pretty to be an amazing photo.

Anyway you have 2 friends that are photographers , one is even a fashion photographer, but they did not tell you that you should focus on the dominant eye when making portraits ? Why do you have complete out of focus pictures on you portfolio ? Also you need to improve a lot on your editing and acquiring a style. I really dislike shooting portraits like that but even I know the basics of it. You've got a long way to go.

I'll add some about your page
1. Get a proper domain. Wordpress in the URL is unprofessional. www.sophietowlson.com is like $25 / 2 years. You can afford that
2. Work on responsiveness. I should be able to see the whole picture without scrolling.
3. If 'read more' is going to be a big part of the front page, put something there to read.
4. Homepage photo is dark and uninviting.
5. Add an icon link to your Instagram, where you now daily post pictures.

Yes I have been shooting for 5 years now, won 4 awards for travel photography and have been commissioned several times for photo documentary works from private and public organizations, plus I teach a course of advanced digital photography and editing techniques. So sit still and listen to people that have more experience than you, little girl. You still got a long way to go, getting paid for shooting pictures is the easiest thing one can do, you don't even need a dslr anymore these days.

These aren't even portfolios. Little sense of organization, tons of photos on the front page. If you have more than 10-15 photos on a page, you aren't editing your work down enough. People who look through your portfolio don't want to see every goddamn image you've ever taken.

The fact that you get paid to do shit doesn't mean the shit you do is good. Same goes for your awards, same goes for teaching, same goes for shooting.

I think your work is just normal. Something someone with a few months of training should be able to do. It's not bad, it's not good. It's not outstanding. There isn't any style/vision in it. You're just not there yet.

Doesn't mean you can't be, but first you need to be a little bit harder on yourself. But yeah, I know most cunts can't be since things come so stupid easy for them.

Think of your website as your CV. it needs to be laid out a bit better so potential clients can find what they are looking for, and find it easily.
They should be able to see the full image on-screen without having to scroll up and down also.
