What methods/gear do you use to clean lenses?
I got some lenses, all pretty filthy, and I want to clean them up so they'll take good pictures.

Distilled water and clean qtips. Anyone who tells you otherwise is retarded. Don't use chemicals on a lens and microfiber cloths never get cleaned after use.

If you ever need to lube up the focusing mechanism or other inside the lens, make sure to use only PFAE, PAO or silicone-based lubricant.

Graphite.

I used Wd40 to clean and lube up my Hasselblad. Spray it in a tub and let it sit for an hour so it splits into two layers and the propellant evaporates, use the top layer only.
If you use it straight it will gunk up

Some ppl are straight up dangerous to nice photography equipment. Don't listen to this guy, buy watch lubricant with an extended oiler of you need to.
