You realize you are actually projecting that, right? Like there's nothing suggesting in any way that it was ever implied that "all forests are impenetrable messes." It's just you, making an assumption, then pretending to be right.

I was really surprised he responded like that. He must be upset about something...
>>
>>2913596

You tried to be snarky, and it backfired.

Most of the forests in Nova Scotia are low hanging coniferous with a lot of dense brush. Glaciers also stripped most of our soil away, so bedrock is just a few inches down. As a result, trees aren't deeply rooted and tend to fall easily, and there is standing water everywhere. The amount of deadfall is very high, and it can make for seriously slow going.

I traveled a lot of forests when I lived in Europe, and they tend to be a joke compared to here, with more deciduous growth and clear ground (like Anon's pic I commented on). Western Canada has better, taller trees that are spaced farther apart. Even New Brunswick, just 300KM North of here is better on average.

lol I've tried to explain the concept of dense american foliage, temperate rainforests and brambleforests to /p/'s europeans with the ancient manicured forests for years.

It's a waste of time. :^)

Op here

This anon, and every other anon pretending not to be the same anon, get a fucking life, trolling by "pretending" to be dumb isn't trolling. It's you being a dumb cunt, there's only so long the "nuh-uh i never said that" defense works when the whole conversation is recorded.

Ambush has been completely reasonable throughout this thread, you've been a miserable, lonely little cum stain.

>>2913757
This isn't even a forest you noob, it's woodland, areas of trees that are kept on farm land for the benefit of livestock. And there is untraversable forest in the uk, parts of the new forest have a forest floor you immediately fall a metre deep into debris and ants. Areas of the forest of dean are mainly rocks covered in a very slippery moss and all over the country there's forest overrun with bramble and stinging nettle thicket. I've been in forests on 5 continents, and one thing I've learnt is that no two forests are the same and ranking their density/traversability by continent is just about the dumbest thing I've read on here.

for·est
ˈfôrəst/Submit
noun
1.
a large area covered chiefly with trees and undergrowth.
"a pine forest"
synonyms: wood(s), woodland, timberland

Invasive species are a major factor in density in some places. Here for example, where the kudzu readily turns even a field of dead stumps into a thriving ecosystem of..itself.
>>
>>2913942
synonym != identical meaning

Having travelled extensively I am familiar with the difference in woods and forests, here's a reference for you.

You would do better not relying on an online dictionary as a replacement for world experience.

Hello, fellow sane person.

Nice thread you had, here. Sorry I helped to shit it up by replying to our resident autist, but it's interesting to watch him dig the hole deeper.

Looks like you had a fine walk and found plenty of good subjects. Hope to see more in the future.
>>
>>2913757

Yeah, it's more like the overgrown remnants of cultivation than natural forest in parts of EU, especially the UK where I'm from. So much more history, and so much less space. It's been swarmed by people for centuries.

Much more wild and primitive in North America, generally speaking. Save for old farm territory, of course.

>speaking in generalizations while the autist lurks

Bracing for it.

This is the kind of photo you get when you have someone who doesn't know what they're doing yet and they think "MAXIMUM BOKEH" for each and every picture.

This photo would have been much better with a deep depth of field, because there is a lot of visual interest. If you were trying to separate the first deer from the rest with bokeh, then you failed, and it just looks distracting.

If it was a single deer, and the rest of the image was not interesting, and the background was far from the foreground, then bokeh would have been good in that circumstance.
>>
>>2911226
>>2911230

this for example, is a better use of a short depth of field

I think the disadvantages would outweigh the advantages. It was an overcast day, after all.

Sure he's only at 105mm, but he'd still have to stop down quite a bit to make much of a difference.

Please, Elaborate.

Are you implying that
>The flies being sharp is unimportant?
>That Iso 800 doesn't start to have a significant impact on image quality?
>That aperture has no effect on ss/iso if you want to keep a good exposure?
>That anti-bokeh isn't meme as fuck around here? (hint, it's a portrait)

here's a copy of the 2nd image but at a narrower aperture, as you can see, the original version I posted is noticeably better. faggot. And it stands up to printing better, cos iso.

Go cry into your fuji.

Also, in-focus grass in the background of a photo is really distracting in my opinion. It's even worse stopped down but still not quite in focus. Better to have it drop off quickly.
