If it's my own pic in my Lightroom catalog, I use the tools in the develop module. 95% of the time, it can automatically fix the verticals all by itself, in addition to using the lens profile to correct for barrel distortion.
If it's really bad distortion, or something I pulled off of /p/, then I'll fix it in Photoshop. My favorite method is super simple: use the Distort tool (edit >> transform >> distort) to pull the corners out.
Helpful Hint: turn on the guides by pressing CNTRL + '
Helpful Hint: start by centering the middle of the image, then work your way to the edges.
Helpful Hint: you can change the color of the guides here: edit >> preferneces >> guides, grids
