I've always thought that photography is an inferior and incorrect format for abstract images. My reasoning is that what you get out of abstract images is derived from enjoyment of its technical excellence. Technical excellence in photography is exposure, editing, and printing. This doesn't matter when it comes to abstract concepts, so I struggle to find any reason these had to be made as a photograph, when they would have been far more enjoyable as a painting.

If it's a suitable Desktop Background, but not a land- city- or starscape, it's "stuff".
If it can be shown to people and say "look I took a picture of [SUBJECT] I saw the other day!" Then it's STUFF.
