Depends what you mean by superior. If you mean keep your images 100% faithful then flickr is probably the best option, however with that platform you are only ever going to reach other photographers interested only in furthering their own reach. Instagram is good because normies use it and a lot more people in general. Instagram has a better community also

That I am

Flickr is the only non-stock photography website which large scale companies regularly use to gain access to useful images.

I know this because I regularly licence photographs from Flickr for use in business catalogues, company magazines and online content. I believe that this year alone my company has spent around $12'000 on flickr so far. The figure for instagram is zero. We don't believe that having our content linked back to that company would be prudent as the Flickr community is dominantly seen as a collection of dedicated amateur and seasoned photographers, while instagram makes people think of a free phone app used by flaneurs and dilettantes.

Yes and no...problem is it's the same shots again and again. Technically excellent but after seeing 1000 shots of Gulfoss and the Wanaka tree / assorted backlit deer / the Milky Way above spectacular mountain ranges you do start to wish for a little variation.
