The vignette is far down the list of issues. You are approximately 60km away from the elk, and using some sort of crappy semi telephoto lens. Walk closer, or get a longer lens, or both.

The elk should be the subject of your photos, however due to how small it is in the frame, as well as the fact that it's colour mixes in with the dreary brown of the grass, it is lost. You've basically got a large greenish browny mess.

To be fair he has a point, just expressed it like a raging autist. I recommend you check out one of the wildlife threads and ask them for advice. As for these photos I'd probably massively crop it and stick it in high contrast black and white if I was going to try and salvage it. There isn't enough contrast between the elk and the grass and it's so small in the frame I couldn't even see it in the thumbnail! For future wildlife photography I recommend you get as close as you can, that's pretty much the number one rule for any kind of photography really!

(Oh and in future look for an appropriate thread rather than making your own unless you have a big dump of varied photos, eg: just got back from Portugal, here's a load of photos I done took)

okay, eff it. all of them are from too far away for the lens you're using, and way too oversharpened. You'd really need to use a longer lens and not sharpen as much in post. The long lens will not only get you further reach, but it will also separate the subject from the background a little bit more.
