I'm discontent with the low light performance with my t3i. Looking to upgrade to a 6D but I don't feel as if I take enough pictures to justify the purchase. Now that school is coming to a close and I'll have more time for the summer, I plan on taking a lot more pictures before I ditch the t3i. However I don't just want to go around aimlessly taking pictures. Is there a way I can do this systematically? I was thinking about going to a different neighborhood in my city each time, and taking landscapes/architecture on day and portraits of locals on another day. Any other ideas? Also thoughts on 6D as an upgrade from t3i?

I'm guessing, if pic is related, you're in NYC.
If you can't just go out and find interesting things to shoot in the city or by exploring as far as you can using the NYCT System - then you aren't trying hard enough. Just get out there. Or decide on a theme to work on and do it.

What do you mean by theme?

Hahaha
6d is a great upgrade. Great low light and still not super heavy compared to the 5d compared to your rabal

My $5000 took kit isn't good enough for what I need. I need a $15000 tool kit.
Also, what do people do with tools? What should I do with my tools?

get some fast vintage glass if you don't have it yet - a 50 f1.8 is the classic choice - that will give you some headroom with low light
