You were serious? It's a theme park, the entire thing is a tourist trap.
Look for textures, look for lines, simple stuff that doesn't even reflect the park, otherwise shooting people in the park sounds more interesting than pictures of anything there that's been done.

Whereas editing is used in place of digital processing most often.

If you look at the subject(s) in the image, they all fall far left on the histogram, and lack good tonality and color from being dim. Even the very brightest spots in the image (the clouds) are a fair way down the scale. It would be one thing if the selected exposure was adding something to the image, or protecting tones in an important area, but that's not the case here.

Welcome! Great choice of location! It looks really interesting! The mood of the shot is also pretty nice and "atmospheric" if you will. I do wish that the stuff sticking up out of the water were exposed a lot more since right now, they're standing there like the subject of the shot, but I'm unable to look at them. A low exposure would be okay, but blacked out as they are, it's jarring against the otherwise soft and misty look of the rest of the scene.

Thanks for the feedback. I understand wanting the things in the water to be more exposed, however with the time of day the light was sadly just not with me to do so. Instead of having them very dark with minor detail I instead opted to have them pretty much blacked out. Looking back on it now I agree that it would be better more exposed on those things. Not bad man I like it, simple composition with a nice subject. I'd crop/clone out that tree branch in the bottom left though, it's a bit distracting.
Also it's a little underexposed. Unless you were trying to catch him in flight, then there's no real reason to be shooting at 1/500sec. You could have used a slower shutter speed which would have given better exposure.

If you haven't already, read up on and watch some youtube videos about Aperture, ISO, and Shutter Speed. Once you learn the basics of how those three work together, you'll be taking well exposed images in no time.

I live here. My favorite thing about this state is that if you just drive for a couple hours, you can see nearly all the different biomes. Drive south and you'll see desert. West and you'll see snow capped mountains and canyons like this. East you'll find piney woods and Gulf beaches. North, well nothing much but snow and wind turbines up there. Central Texas is cool too with caverns and springs everywhere.

Dev was rodinal, for 7 minutes at 68 degrees. Film was 100 ISO Fomapan, I think. As of late, though, I've been shooting x-ray for the cost factor. X-ray's fun but scratches very, very, very easily.

thanks for your input. i don't really care if people see me taking their picture desu, i've taken and posted here a number of pix here right in people's faces, i just found these four to be my favorite i took last night.
separating people from the background is something i've struggled with tho. i try to have background to offer some amount of framing i don't know that it's always (or ever) successful. i'm a newb photographer but getting in people's personal space doesn't bother me.

its a nice setting you got, and a good atmosphere you could use, but its wasted by not having a subject to stare at. I dont know if the couches were supposed to be your subject, but it wont really work for everyone.
It doesnt have to be a person either, your subject could be anything, a baby's crib, some old shoes, a broken TV. all im saying is add a subject next time and this would be a great pic

That's because they are. It takes time but you need to look at work similar to what you want to shoot.
Some tips for landscapes though if that's what you're doing at the moment. Try get lower, all of these look like you took them standing up with the camera in your face. Seems obvious to shoot this way but you're capturing dull scenes in exactly the same way someone would see them with their own eyes so it just makes the images all that more mundane.
Image 1: You're on the wrong side of the subject, remember that in strong sunlight you would need a flash or a reflector to light the shaded side of the subject Also I'd imagine that if that's your dog than you would have all the time in the world to capture something more evocative than their side when they're not even looking at you. Otherwise the framing is sound and baring you being on the shaded side of the subject the picture is technically exposed just fine.
2: Mate you cant polish a turd in post, the colour shift is way too strong and doesn't suit the scene at all.There is literally nothing going on here. It's not close enough to the tree to be a sort of materials/texture study. You're too close if this is supposed to be a landscape of the tree against the stream
3: This is one you could have gotten lower on, I also would have zoomed in more to avoid the ruined banks in the forefront of the image. Again though there's nothing really worth looking at here. If you like looking at this image than that's all that really counts but you dont like it so you need to find more interesting scenes.
4: Again there's nothing going on here, the exposure is perfect and if this was of a nicer scene than it would surely be beautiful
5 and 6 are complete snapshits mate, not sure what advice you would want here other than dont photograph things that are barely interesting. They're worth forgetting not saving in a camera.

They are about something else, say a declaration of colour or form that's being brought out in something boring. You're still making a statement, an interesting statement but in it there is a dull subject. That's different completely from what you are doing.
