I was worried about not getting enough of my shots in focus so when there was enough light I used a narrower aperture than my lens' 1.8, but now looking back I think a lot of my shots would have looked better with the bokeh, like this one.

This one's personally my favorite. I really love the colors. I'm torn between whether or not it would have been better if the man's head hadn't been cut off. This was just a super quick impulse shot so I didn't really have any time to think about it but I'm still really happy with it.

These are all fucking terrible. Why do the worst photographers create their own threads? You are nowhere near good enough to be doing this, your favorite shot is of a guy with his head cut off, just fucking use the recent photo thread and go practice a lot more.

This is not much bokeh, get closer to your subject to blur the background more.

OP there is nothing interesting here. These shots don't say anything and are pretty boring. You need to develop an eye for composition.

You might think these subjects are interesting and they are but the composition just makes the shot generic.

Please, photography is less about the technology in your camera than the act of taking and composing an image. Who cares if you learned what a histogram is
or how you are processing your images on lightroom. Learn about what makes a good photo.

As for what I think is "interesting" about the photos, it's kinda hard to articulate but I was trying to get shots where you look at it makes you think about what was happening in the moment.

Like in the cell phone one, I like how the woman's got some kind of concerned or grossed out look on her face while the man looks amused. I don't know what's on the phone or why it would give them that reaction so that lets my imagination create a little story and give them some personality.

It might sound dumb or whatever but the way the character Ben from Scrubs thought about photos ("Pictures are moments in time") really stuck with me.

Wow Ben sure states the obvious. All pictures capture moments in time, not matter if they're posed or not. What you are trying to do is what we know as street photography, go to the recent photos thread and see how many of those there are. It's nothing new or hard to articulate but your execution is poor. You forget that we live in a modern society and we don't care what they were looking at on their phone, we see stuff like this every day. It's no mystery. Wait 40 or more years and this photo might be interesting because we might have holophones and ancient tech is interesting to us.This is the now and it's not interesting, nor is it composed interestingly. Their expressions aren't that great either.
